Summer Part 3-Syd's 3rd Birthday

Miss Sydney turned 3 back on the 7th, and wow, she is a handful. She is extremely stubborn, can throw the biggest tantrums you have ever experienced, and can drive even the most patient mother batty. But besides all of that, she is extremely funny, oh so smart, very outgoing and friendly, athletic,  almost always has a huge grin on her face, loves her family(especially her big brother), is the most beautiful little girl I have ever layed eyes upon, energetic, and always willing to help. She loves to play cars with the boys, and throw dirt, but also loves her baby dolls. Basically many of the qualities I wish to have, and all in a tanned pint sized body.
We celebrated her birthday the whole weekend, and she got a new princess bike:
And a new Dora watch from Rory:
She wanted a Tangled birthday, so we decorated with Tangled stuff, but she also wated a Dora and Diego cake(which I can't believe I forgot to photograph!)
                                                   Her card from Rory:
New Rupunzel  Doll from Mema and Grandpa(who also got her some pink Legos)
Aunt Angie and family set a cool froggy backpack and a big pink soft hippo that opens up to a sleeping bag and pillow. She has been sleeping with Mr. hippo every night.
                                                   Out riding bikes:

We don't do birthday parties with friends until the 5th birthday, so she got to pick where we went to dinner the night before her birthday(since her birthday landed on a Sunday this year), and just like her 2nd birthday, she picked Rubio's for a fish taco. That was just fine with me! She got to invite both sets of Grandparents, so that was fun.

Summer of fun....part 1

Here's a rundown on some of the very fun things we have done so far this summer. and since summer doesn't really end until October here in San Diego, we still have lots more to come!
First, we went to El Dorado Hills to visit Micah's sister Angela, her husband rob, Angela and our nieces and nephews. We spent a week just hanging out enjoying the company. Every other year we have gone up during the summer, the weather was around 105, but this particular week was cool and rainy. They live right near Folsom Lake and have a boat we usually go out on to do some tubing, wake-boarding, etc..., but it was way too cold, so we skipped it. Next year! Rory and Sydney had a great time playing with their cousins. We hardly saw them during the day because they'd just run off and play in the yard or wherever in the house.

Rory lost his first tooth while we were there, too! He lost his second the next week at home, the bottom front right next to this one.He made $2 per tooth from the tooth fairy.

They did  a LOT of rough housing with Uncle Rob...

We of course visited the California Train museum in downtown Sacramento, which we do whenever we go up there, and the kids pretended they were trying to get on to platform 9 3/4 for the  Hogwart's Express...they didn't quite make it.
Notice the "do not climb" sign that Uncle Rob seemed to miss when he put my kids up on this push cart.
                                                               Sydney's crack...too funny.
Micah and I made a side trip to San Francisco while Angela watched our kids. we played some disc golf, and went to Alcatraz. It was so fun!

                                                      Creepy shower room at Alcatraz:

Some random ducks...just liked the photo, mostly!
                                          It was gorgeous out:

10 years of Kim's

Micah and I celebrated 10 years of marriage on the 15th of June, and wow, time flies! Some days I still feel like a newlywed. Others, not so much! I love you, Micah, you are a wonderful husband and father. I am so proud of you, for providing for our family, protecting us, bringing Priesthood blessings upon our home and family, being a hero to our kids(and me), bringing a smile to my face every time I hear your voice, for seeing the kids run to you and yell "Daddy!" when you come home from anywhere, and especially putting up with me! :)
I couldn't have chosen a better man to spend eternity with. And wow, all that we have accomplished! Most importantly our two beautiful babies.
