We're back in one piece!

Outside of the park...waiting for Dad to buy tickets. He kept saying "I'm so excited, Mom!"
Sydney apparently was, too.

On the train that goes around the park.

On Autopia, this was his favorite.
Yay! Grandpa's here! We didn't tell Rory he was coming, and surprised him. He was pretty happy!

He got bored witht his really fast...

With Grandpa on the Dumbo ride.
Grandpa rode on the carousel once with everyone...Kaydence, Rory and then Sydney. My camera ran out of room when Sydney got on, unfortunately.
Sydney obviously is interested in something else.
At Mickey's house.
He loved watching the cake rise in Minnie's oven.
I wish I had a jail at home. Perfect for time-outs.
On the Jungle Cruise.
Rory refused to get anywhere near Alladdin and Jasmine...he was scared.
We all felt kinda jipped about the Jungle Book treehouse...lots of stairs, and that's pretty much it.Another Rory favorite..the bumper cars.
Daddy had to do this one, I can't do spinney ridesRory's there, too.
He loved this Rocket ride.
Hang ten, dude.

Well, we're back, and we're tired!! All of us! 2 kids in a hotel=no sleep for anyone. But that's okay, we all had a blast at Disneyland. It was well worth the effort, money, and lack of sleep. Rory had a great experience, and we are going to keep reminding him so he doesn't forget. I was thinking that he sure is a lucky boy to get to do so much fun stuff. I never went to any amusement parks growing up(although I hold no ill feelings towards my parents for this, as I couldn't imagine any parent having to take 5 kids anywhere, much less an overpriced, overcrowded park). Anyways, I'm now getting to see why places like Disneyland were built...so your children can go on rides, eat lots of sugar, and run around until they either fall asleep or puke. Or both. ;) But Micah and I both said that we have never had more fun at an amusement park than we did with Rory and Sydney. The weather turned our perfect, and the crowds weren't bad.
We went on almost every ride that he was tall enough for. The verdict is: he LOVED Autopia(the race car one), and the Jungle Cruise. He DID not like the Roger Rabbit ride or almost any that went into a a dark tunnel..so we skipped most of those(like Pirates, the Mad hatter, etc...). He went on the bumper cars at California Adventure over and over, and ran around Toon Town like he owned the place. He even got to meet Mickey, but for the most part didn't want anything to do with any of the characters...Micah took Rory on a Buzz Lightyear ride, and on the way out they saw Captain Hook. Rory freaked out, jumped into the back of the double stroller, pulled the visor down over him so you couldn't see him, and said he wanted to go home. At least we didn't have to wait in the lines to get photos with any of the characters, right?
Grandpa Drury and Aunt Lynnette and Kaydence met us up there on Monday afternoon for Grandpa's birthday, so Rory got to hang out with him and have a churro. Grandpa even got him some cool toys...we're really glad they came up, it made it that much more fun. Happy Birthday Dad! Anyways, we'll wait another year or two before going back so Sydney can enjoy it more, and Rory will be able to go on ALL the rides(and maybe won't be scared of some of them).

Happy Birthday Rory!

Danny, Sydney and Rory(in his birthday crown). The kids chowing down lots of sugar(sorry Mom's).

Rory ate his whole cupcake without ever picking it up. What skills he has!Birthday dinner...
With Meme and Papa and his new bike! (AND, what the heck is that reflected in the tv over my Dad's head? It's not the flash from the camera...not sure? Maybe a ghost...;)
Riding around the house.
Our birthday treats, Rory wanted a vanilla cake with strawberries, so I made him a white cake with a layer of french vanilla pudding and sliced strawberries in the middle, and covered it in homemade whipped cream, it came out really good, I think. And the cupcakes I made a fudge frosting for, which was also good. I don't know why I would ever buy frosting at the store, the homemade stuff tastes a million times better, and super easy to make
Rory and Grandpa Kim searching for the end of a carrot he lost.(Tara, thanks again for lending us your folding chair, it came in handy again tonight!!)
Some decorations.A bonus shot of Micah with hair...he came home like this on Friday. My husband is weird. He looks like someone specific to me, but I won't say...(friends...just ask me next time I see you.) My Mom watched the kids for us that night while we went out to dinner, and she said he'd pay him $20 to wear it during dinner...I told him if he even tried, I'd kill him. Literally.
Playing at the park.

Today was Rory's 3rd Birthday. He had a fun day. He woke up and asked "is today my birthday?" And ran out into the living room whwere he saw his decorations(we hung a few balloons up and a banner, and made him a Birthday crown). And he opned up a couple of gifts that we got for him( a new monster truck!!! He LOVES monster trucks). We had Joy School at our house today, so we decorated cupcakes after our snack, and the kids sang him Happy Birthday. As you can see from the photos, they had fun decorating and eating the cupcakes, but boy what a mess!!(They also made their own pb&j sanwiches, so that added to the stickiness.)

Anyways, I asked what he wanted for dinner, and he said In-N-Out, so that's where we went, Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Kathryn and Uncle Jarrod and Uncle Keith and "Uncle Net" and kaydence joined us, and then back to our house for cake and ice cream, where Grandma and Grandpa Kim came to help sing with everyone else. And guess what Grandpa and Mema surprised him with? A new bike!! What a lucky boy. He's been asking for one ever since Christmas when he saw his friend Caden's new bike. So he got it, and Mema got him a helmet and even a horn to put on the handlebars. It's a pretty spiffy bike. He immediately jumped on and rode it around the house. So good going Grandpa and Mema, he LOVES it. I always said I would never spoil my kids, but why is it so hard not to? It's true, you just want them to have everything, it's easy to spoil...especially when you have Grandparents like he has. Anyways, the forcast says it's going to rain when we go to Disneyland, so everyone keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't pour!! That would not be very fun.

I Love My Kids and my Husband

Sorry it's sideways....but atleast she's happy! Rory making cookies for Daddy.
Eating the cookie dough...he licked those things clean, and when he was putting the cookie dough on the cookie sheets, ke kept eating mouthfuls when he thinks I wasn't looking, and as soon as I'd look, he's put the spoon down. Sneaky little guy.
Watching the cookies bake...he got bored after a minute or two.
Making valentine's with his buddies lance and Mia, and decorating cakes.
Grandpa dropped this Fireman's hat off, and he immediately ran and go one of his firetrucks...thought it was funny he decided to sit on it.

I am just so happy to have such a wonderful family...I'm so truly blessed with great kids and great husband. Anyways, had to get that off my chest...let's see, today was the first beautiful, clear day in almost a week. It's been pouring rain since last Thursday, which is wonderful, because I LOVE the rain, but not when you have kids that want to go outside and play. Then it's not fun to be inside for that long. Anyways, so while Rory was at Joy School, Sydney and I walked around Poway and did our errands(one of the fabulous things about where we live, we can walk to everything..parks, library, post office, grocery stores, Wal-mart, banks, movie theatre, restaurants, EVERYTHING, it's all within a couple blocks of our house). Anyways, so we enjoyed the fresh, cool air. Then after the kids naps we went ot the park and played until it was almost dark, and it was super cold by the time we left(the thermometer in our car said 54, but I swear it was 53).

We've got a lot to look forward to in the coming 2 weeks...as I've mentioned before, Disneyland!! AND, Rory's 3rd birthday is next week. He's such a big boy. And he's completely potty trained now!! One pee accident since we started. I'm so proud. He just walks right into the bathroom, hops up on the toilet, and goes. He even flushes and washes his hands afterwards. I'm just blown away at how easy this whole thing was. Oh, and his surgery was unfortunately rescheduled for the 25th of this month, I'm still hoping we can possibly do it next week(it was originally going to be tomorrow). He needs those ears drained ASAP...his hearing has been affected big time.

Other than that, here's some pictures from the last few days..Rory made cookies for Daddy(they were delicious), and his friends Lance and Mia were here(I have been watching them once a week for a while now), and they made Valentine's, and decorated their own cakes(Rosa, did you get the valentine's?). Sydney is doing great, just growing. Her two bottom teeth that she got in a couple weeks ago are so cute! I'll try to get a picture of them. So that's about it for the Kim's for the week.

I'm TIRED

Aunt Kathryn with the babies.(What are they both looking at?) Wii Bowling night...dang my camera died, didn't get any photos of us bowling. I had a great victory dance, wish I had that on camera!!
He's looking, she's not. She's looking, he's not. I can't win.
Poll...please reply to this: Do you think it's gross to reuse bath water? Micah is demanding that we reuse the bathwater for the second child to have his/her bath. I think that's just nasty. He thinks I'm ridiculous to not do it, and says that EVERYONE reuses bathwater if they have more than one kid taking a bath. So...Gross, or not? I think I just threw up a little in my mouth thinking about reused bathwater.
Our little guitarist. He can already play Stairway to Heaven. (Well, it sorta sounded like some kind of tune...could have been that.)
He's really trying to look cool.
So last week was just horrible...I guess it's okay because we're all still alive, but EVERYONE was sick at some point. I was considering setting up a quarantine. I got really sick, then Micah, then Rory got another cold, and has another ear infection, which I can't do a thing about because he gets his surgery next week and can't take any antibiotics(which is fine, because I'm tired of him taking them). And Sydney, well Sydney has had a cold since she was born. Literally. Poor kid. We wash hands constantly, I disinfect surfaces everyday, wipe noses all day, well, if your a parent, you know. A never ending uphill battle, right? Anyways, hopefully the tubes Rory gets in his ears will make a huge difference. I can handle the sniffles, but not those horrid ear infections that poor boy keeps getting. Keep us in your prayers!!
So on a good note, my family had a Wii Bowling Tournament on Saturday evening, and I BEAT everyone good. I mean I slaughtered them. My highest score was something like a 240? Which is okay as far as scores go, but I think the closest score was only like a 180 or something...anyways, I think that was pretty darn good considering there were 8 of us who played, and my Mom and Dad practiced all week(mostly my Dad), and I hadn't played Wii bowling in at least a year. A fluke? Maybe. Most likely not, though, I'm just good. ;) Wow, I'm conceited, too.

So, we're getting closer to our Disney trip, we'll probably stay overnight for 2 nights, which will make it more of a vacation(which we all need right now!!) Rory keeps asking everyday if we get to go, and if it's his birthday yet. He's funny. And I think we have a guitar player in our midst... Micah bought me a guitar for my birthday a few years ago, and I never learned to play(one of the many items on my to-do list), so Rory wanted to have a shot at it. He's pretty good!! It rekindled my interest in learning to play, guess I better pull out my Esteban How to Play Guitar DVDs.LOL, I know, super lame, but who knows, if I can learn to play like Esteban, I'll be sorta good!!
