And by the way, last post of the day!!!

I promise!! I was just thinking about how proud of my husband I am. He's such a hard worker, such a wonderful husband, and fantastic Dad. I really have to give myself kudos for picking such a wonderful man( it can't all be about him, you all know me too well). I just wanted everyone to know that!! And he's the hottest man I know. I love you honey!!

Buzz on Ice!!

Rory is on his 4th week of ice skating classes, and doing great! Today they got to dress up in their Halloween costumes, so Rory went as Buzz Lightyear...He had a bit of a hard time skating in the costume, but looked cute!
His class....as you can see he is the youngest by far!
With one of the instructor's, Megan. The other one is Jessica, and the are both so wonderful with the kids. Today was the last day of classes, so because Rory is loving it so much, I went ahead and signed him up through the end of the year. He even got a report card, and his teachers say he's learning everything great, and especially an A for effort.

Bedroom re-do

So I got the itch to do a bedroom make-over. Well, actually do SOMETHING to it. And CHEAP. Like almost free. So here's an update. Darn, I really should have taken some before shots of the bedroom and everything, but I'll take pics of it after I'm totally done(one day I hope), and show you what wasn't there.
Anyways, I found the idea of making an old door(pictured below) into a headboard...so here it is after getting some of the millions of layers of what I'm sure is lead based paint off of it. This door was bought for $25 on craigslist from an old Craftsman house. It has the paneling that I wanted. I finished sanding it and painting it, and Micah is going to put posts on each side and put moulding on the top, so once it's up, I'll post the final product. Now I really wish would have thought to take before photos of this dresser and the nightstand(both were craigslist finds, $25 each). Both were a red hued stained wood. Like a cinnamon color? Anyways, this dresser is extremely old, I wish I had the key that went to the locks on each drawer...it would be kinda neat! So I sanded both until smooth, painted them, (added a polyurethane coat to the dresser), and distressed the dresser. The nightstand Is just off white with no distressing...anyways, I like how the dresser especially came out.

I'll post some more pics when the headboard is done...

A really cool website

Okay, I promise I'm not trying to turn my personal blog into a fashion blog...or anything other than photos and stories about my family, but I follow so many other cool blogs that are written by so many cool people. Please do check out this blog. My friend Elaine(even though I have never met her in person, but have some email correspondence, and I promise she's more than wonderfully sweet and hope to meet her one day) runs this blog, and it's all about her daily wardrobe, and making the clothes you already have hanging in you closet work for you. AND by doing it modestly and fashionably. You'll check her blog once and will keep going back for more. And she has a giveaway right now for a great dress by Shabby Apple dresses...so check it out!

Little pumpkins...

We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday with my family. It's an annual thing we do every October. It's alwasy so fun, and something we look forward to each year. This is Rory's 4th year and Sydney's 2nd. It is also fun remembering years past and how far each child and family has come. Unfortunately Micah wasn't able to go(work), but everyone else went(my parents, brothers/sister and their wives/husband and children). No year is complete without the whellbarrow ride from Grandpa!

On the hayride.
Rory went down this slide so many times, Mema bought him lots of tickets...I think the final count was 9?
Syd trying out her cousin Kaydence's sunglasses. Stylin!
Rory over on the pony(red shirt) with Grandpa Drury.
Sydney LOVEd the pony ride. She was laughing and smiling the whole time.
Checking out the ducks and geese.

I LOVE clothes. I wish I had more money to spend on them. Really I do. I have actually thought about getting a part-time job just to be able to have extra spending money to supplement my wardrobe. Unfortunately, that's not very logical or feasible. Micah said he wouldn't let me spend it on clothes, anyways, as it would go toward bills. Who cares about bills? I can't wear bills. I can't use them to buy clothes and shoes and accessories. All well. Hopefully Micah's business will take off, and he'll make us millionaires. Maybe. Then I'd be the best dressed wife ever.
Anyways, since I can't buy clothes, I can try to WIN them. That doesn't cost anything. And, you can all try to win, too!! Who knows about Shade Clothing? Raise your hands(mine is raised right now). Well, they are an awesome clothing company that sells beautiful, affordable(but they won't take my unpaid bills in exchange for clothes), quality and modest clothing. Yes, MODEST. I know that most of you that read this(meaning my Mom), like modest clothing. I know I do, as I DON'T like to let my assetts show. That's for my husbands eyes only. ;) I own a few items from Shade, they are all comfy and stylish. I have a Shade shirt that's 6 years old that I still wear regularly. Doesn't that attest to the quality? Anyways, back to winning free loot. First, check out Shade Clothing and drool over their new Fall line. PLUS it's their Anniversary Sale, so you can save some money. Make sure to pick me up something, I wear a Medium. And I want the black Interlock dress and the Terry Pea Coat.(hint hint..) Next, go to this blog...where you can enter to win one of the most stylish looking denim skirts. Also something I wouldn't mind receiving as a gift(maybe an "I love you soooo much Kelsey, I just had to buy you something gift").

I love October....

We've had a fun couple of weeks...just busy!! I feel like don't have a spare moment for anything. I actually started using a calendar...which I never have done before. I think the older your kids get, the more scheduling you need to do. Anyways, I messed up and posted the pictures backwards...newest to oldest. You'll get the idea. The weather finally cooled of a little this week, so it feels like autumn(for as much as it does in Southern California). This past weekend was General Conference, and we spent all day Sunday with both sets of grandparents, lunch at my parents, dinner with Micah's, so it was fun to see everyone in one day.

Sydney is walking! She started about 3 weeks ago, and hasn't crawled since. She's so fast, I can turn away for one second, and she's gone! I have a little energizer bunny on my hands with her...just like with Rory. She does the funniest stuff, like shake her booty when she dances, pucker her lips really big for kisses, and when you say "night night" she'll lay down wherever she's at and start snoring. She's got a great sense of humor, and the cutest, most infectious laugh. I have definitely been blessed with two kids that have smiles that light up their whole faces. She's saying a new word almost every day it seems. She turned 14 months old yesterday, and says more words that I can remember. Her newest is truck, although she says "cuck" which is just funny. And the funniest to hear her say is Popsicle...I'll have to get a recording of her saying that one!
Rory has been keeping busy playing with friends, running everywhere he goes, and has been especially lucky as I've been watching one of my friends two kids, so he gets to have two of his best friends here on a regular basis. He is very curious about everything, and is always asking questions...I mean ALWAYS. He has always been an early riser, and we had a day last week he decided to get up at 3:30 am. Well, Micah and I weren't very happy about that, but I just chalk it up to his personality. He loves life so much, he doesn't want to waste it on sleeping. There's too much to do in one day, and not enough time! Not sure if I'll be able to remember that the next time he decided to wake up so early, but, it's true.

Okay, so Rory started ice skating lessons yesterday. He decided that out of all the Community classes that were available, that was the one. He wants to learn how to play hockey, but let's start with the basics!! Here he is on the ice. He did really really good for his first time. He got up immediately, and even skated a bit without help. He did fall alot too, though. The first thing he said to me after the class was "Mom, the ice is really hard!!!"
Skating! And he was the youngest by a few years in his class, but the teacher said it was really good to start so young, as they learn alot faster.
Sydney hanging out while we watched.

First time standing on skates.Look how cute those little skates are!
Waiting for the class to start, he was so excited.
Rory with his buds Lance and Mia.

What kid doesn't like licking the beaters clean after Mom made cookies?
At the airplane museum again, this time with lots of friends.
At cousin Kaydence's first birthday party. Mema, Kaydence and Rory.
I liked this picture of Sydney with her balloon.
Cupcake time.
And we went to the Natural History Museum recently, and Rory LOVED this!! He has a new thing for dinosaurs.
