It's working!

So, I just had to update from my post from a month ago, regarding losing weight. I don't own a scale, but have been measuring myself every few weeks, so a month into my running (yes, I'm still running, believe it or not!) I have lost 5 1/2" total-2 from my waist, 1/2 from hips, 1 from each thigh, and 1/2 from each bicep. So just had to share...AND, I ran almost 3 miles today, so I'm getting there. I'll keep you updated. My goal is to lose some more from my waist, I probably won't get much smaller anywhere else(just bigger if muscle gain happens, I hold all weight in the waist area unfortunately). Anyways, I'm just so proud of myself for keeping it up! So kudos to me!! ;)

Early Thanksgiving

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Kim's house for an early Thanksgiving this past Saturday(and I loaded the pictures in the wrong order, so they are at the bottom), anyways, all the cousins were there, it was so fun! Rory loves seeing all of his cousins, he was worn out. Then on Monday we went down to Old Town and then to Point Loma with everyone(minus Daddy and Grandma Kim who both had to work). Tomorrow we go to Grandma and Grandpa Drury's for another Thanksgiving, aren't we so lucky? We are so blessed to live around our family, and not have to travel far to see them. In other news, I sent a letter to the editor of North County Times regarding my opinion on the Proposition 8 downfall(basically everyone who was against Prop 8, and how they can't get over the vote of the people). Anyways, it was interesting to see the comments I got(mostly negative), and how someone even brought the Church into the argument(I never mentioned the Church, or that I was a member), so not sure why the Church is the scapegoat in this matter. I did have someone from the ward that read the paper this morning and saw my comment and told me they enjoyed reading it...so that's something. Anyways, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! We'll be thinking of all of you.

Twilight movie....

Okay, so I posted earlier that I was going to see this movie...and I'm sure alot of you have read the books, and have or are planning on seeing the movie. If you haven't and plan to, don't read any further, spoilers are coming!!!
Anyways, this had to be one of the funniest movies I have seen in a while, and trust me, I don't think that was the director's intention at all. I really don't have much to say about it other than...wow. Gorgeous sets, and well, yeah. Anyways, Kathryn or Mom or Kasey...just had to laugh at the lipstick wearing vampire man and his red ears, and his so called Volvo that was really a Ford Focus in disguise. This movie will give us lots of funny punch lines to jokes that no one else will understand. So that made it worth the $11.50 for the ticket!!

Sleep

Well, an update...Rory slept last night!! Yippeee!!! Which means Micah and I did, too. We all woke up in much better moods this morning. Rory went to the doctor yesterday afternoon, and he has a double ear infection, he's in the beginning stages, poor guy. So we started antibiotics last night to knock it out. Anyways, we ALL have colds as of today, unfortunately. It's the worst when Sydney is sick, being a little baby. But she slept 10 hours straight as usual, and woke, up, ate, and is asleep again. I have to make rolls and sweet potato casserole today for the Kim Family Thanksgiving which is tomorrow. Fun, huh?(dripping with sarcasm...) But I can tell today is going to be a much better day!!

AHHHHHHHHHH(just had to get that out)

Do you notice she's almost as big as him? Crazy!

So Rory is sick AGAIN. Another cold and possibly ear infection. He's going to the doctor today to see, but he hasn't slept at all the last two nights which means neither have I or Micah. This morning I was about ready to run away!!(Without the kids). As we speak he's in his room screaming at the top of his lungs because the ribbon on one of his teddy bears necks came off again(because he keeps untying it). Anyways, he's supposed to be napping, but has been in there for over 2 hours yelling and calling for me to either fix his blanket, fix his bears, fix his pillow(fluff it up), sing him a song, get him water, fix his diaper(he keeps undoing one side of it), or anything else he can think of. I keep asking if he has owies anywhere to get an idea of if he's in any pain(to make me more sympathetic towards him..ANYTHING to make me less irritated at him), but he keeps saying no. He's been running around like normal, so I know he can't be feeling THAT bad, right? Anyways, just a vent... Atleast Sydney is a angel, she slept in this morning and is napping now, I am counting my blessings that I have ONE good child. Uggghh. Tomorrow night I finally get a much needed and deserved night away(me and my sisters and Mom are going to see the Twilight movie). I can't wait to have some me time!!!

Anyhow, above are some cute pics I took the other day of the two of them, Rory wanted to hold her, and Sydney actually seemed to enjoy the brother time!

One year ago...

I was just reflecting on time. When we were reading scriptures tonight, we read in Alma Chapter 40, and in vs, 8, it states; "Now whether there is more than one time appointed for men to rise it mattereth not;for all do not die at once, and this mattereth not;all is as one day with God, and time only is measured unto men." This really hit a cord with me. Micah and I were discussing a few issues last night, and he really clarified things for me at that moment when I needed it most. He said "honey, do you have beautiful healthy children?" I said, "of course I do." He asked " Do you have a husband that loves you? Do you have a roof over your head? And an abundance of food to eat?" "Yes, " I replied. "He then said "Do you know where you are going after this life? and what you need to do to get there?" Again my response was a firm yes. I then realized that as stressed out as I may feel about some things, it's all temporary. Those issues do not matter. What matters is my family. With everything going on in every one's life right now, we need to all remember that this is a short life here on the earth, only the blink of a eye to Heavenly Father. What matters is the rest of our lives after this one. So thanks, Micah, for re-clarifying what is really important, and to not spend the short time I have on this earth worrying about temporary things.
That also got me thinking about where this year has gone. Can anyone tell me? Above is a picture of Rory exactly a year and 3 days ago. Boy has he grown!! I wasn't even pregnant with Sydney yet!! Just amazing. I sure have a great family.

She's taken to thumb sucking...Three bugs in a bed, this was us cuddling one morning.
Rory playing trains, his favorite activity!
I made Rory a fort, so then he wanted to eat popcorn and watch a movie in his fort, too.

Hey everyone,

Is it just me or is time just going faster and faster every week? It feels like each week just flies by and it's the next one before I know it. So this week was just an average week, nothing too much. Above are a few pictures from our week.

Great Grandma Drury and SydneyRory on Mema's skateboard...she said she got it when she was 12...it was pretty retro looking.

We went to the Harrison's for dinner last night, Rory had a blast with Sydney and her cousin Ashlyn.
We tried Sydney out in the bumbo seat yesterday, she seemed to like it. Rory is such a lovingbrother(when he's not pinching her). :)

Me and the kids before church this morning.
We took a little stroll around the neighborhood this evening to enjoy the cool air, and so I got to finally put Sydney in one of her cute little track suits before she outgrows them for good.

We had a fun weekend, lots going on!! Trick or treating Friday, went to Mema's on Saturday to visit Great Grandma, and to the Harrison's for dinner last night. We had a nice relaxing day today, unfortunately Sydney wasn't in the mood for church, so me and the kids ditched church an hour early today, and Rory came home and slept for over 3 hours! We took a nice walk, and Micah is making dinner for us, so this has been a really nice weekend!
