MORE Family Pictures...

Hey everyone...here's some more photos...they took forever to download, so had to wait until I had some time. We had a wonderful photographer named Kate Williams, and she was awesome! Check out her website... it was hard to pick just a few to post on my blog, she literally took HUNDREDS of photos, and they were all so cute. Although how could they not be when you see the subjects? :) Enjoy!

Family Photos

September begins...

Finished my pillows! Here's the backside of them: And the front: I mastered the buttons and buttonholes...I think they came out pretty cute.
So Sydney has got to be one of the messiest children I hae ever come across...here's two pics from the past few days to demonstrate what I mean:

This one didn't really capture her messiness as well as I would have liked...maybe I should have waited til we left...we spent Labor Day evening at a park with a few families from our ward, and had a great time, but Miss Sydney spent the couple of hours crawling/walking/sliding through the dirt. She ate it, licked it, mashed it, crunched it, and just plain got dirty. Thanks to my friends daughter for holding her up for the picture, I didn't even want to touch her!!
Obviously the first thing we did last night after we got home was dump them both in the tub. The water was pretty murky after they got in, but needless to say, after a good scrubbing with soap, they were my clean sweet babies once again.
Todat we visited the Leatherheads Aviation Museum on Miramar Road on the base. If you haven't been before, then get moving! It's a fun way to spend an hour or so. Rory LOVED waling through the outside area where he could check out more than 30 Military jets/helicoptors. They even have open cockpit days throughout the year so you can sit in most of them. unfortunately we missed the last one of this year by only two days. But we will be heading to the Miramar Air show next month, so he will have the opportunity once again to see more jets. I couldn't leave without buying Rory something from the gift shop, so he picked out a nice little Blue Angel Jet. He's taking a nap with it as we speak.

New machine...and more of the kids...

Well, it's been a fun filled week, yet again. My birthday was last Monday, and I was a very lucky girl. Micah won me a spa package at a Del Mar Day Spa to use(he won it on the radio). AND he got me a new sewing machine! Yippee! I've been asking for one for a while now. AND I got a mountain bike, too, thanks to some wonderful friends that weren't using one of theirs. So a a few things I've wanted FOREVER in a week. I'm so happy!!! I had a wonderful birthday weekend, staring with a girls night out the Friday before my birthday. My awesome friends took me out to dinner to one of my favorite restaurants, and a movie, and made me feel like a Princess all night. I'm so greatful to have such great friends. Then Saturday morning we took family pictures in Coronado(I'll post this week!), and then my wonderful parents took the kids all afternoon so Micah and I could have some fun, so we went to lunch to my absolute favorite place, Miami Grille, and played disc golf. And we relaxed and just enjoyed ourselves.
Anyways, it's been a fun week, we went to Sea World, went swimming, played at the park, and mostly we just tried to stay cool. It's been atleast 100 degrees here in Poway the last few days. This afternoon just to do something other than stay inside(because it's been soooo hot), we went down to Mt. Soledad, and it was a gorgeous afternoon. Wish I had brought my camera, the marine layer was rolling in, and it was breathtaking to see from up high. Anyways, that's about it! Here;s a pic of the new machine, I LOVE it so far. I hemmed a pair of pants, and made my first pillow case..(see picture below of that).
My friend Rachael on one of the rides at Sea World with her boys and Rory...

Rory and Caden checking out the flamingos. Me and the kids heading home after our Sea World morning.
We made a trip to Ikea this past week for pillow inserts, and had to get an ice cream cone...

My big girl...
And last but not least, the first ever sewing project!! It took me an hour, but I think it came out great!! Super excited about this, I'm making 3 more pillows (two more to replace the red ones on the sides, and one for our armchair...and probably some new covers for the other two behind the red ones...I can't decided on fabric!)

Lessons, Syd's Birthday, and lighthouse

Rory finished up his last session of swim lessons a couple weeks ago, and got to commemorate his last day by diving(jumping) off the diving board.

I wasn't able to get a shot of him actually jumping, as I was too busy trying to get him to actually go off...he was fine until he got to the edge, and then decided he wasn't too keen on the idea anymore.

Sydney on her birthday morning.

With her new babydoll.

She loved her birthday cupcake.

At Mema's, enjoying one of her gifts...

We took a drive down to Point Loma this past weekend, as it was free all weekend to go to the lighthouse.

Where's Rory?

Walking down to the tidepools...unfortunately the tide was way too high to really go all the way down, Rory was bummed and he really wanted to catch a fish with his bare hands. ;)

All in all, it was a gorgeous day, and we had a great time.
